Time To Rest!

Time To Rest!

Exodus 33:14“My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

There is a time to rest. Enjoy your labor and understand how important it is to just sit back and see what you have accomplished by the grace of God.

Do be that person that does not take time out to enjoy the process, enjoy the completions of work. We have seasons for a reason, and this is the time and season to rest. Rest from worry, rest from hard labor, rest from your work. It is ok to take time off, to take a vacation, enjoy your family, your friends, your spouse, your children.

Hebrews 4: 9-11“Let us, therefore, strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.”

This is a golden nugget for life: it takes work to just rest. Rest from your list of things that run throughout your mind all day. Rest from the hustle and bustle of the day, week, month. We must strive to rest. Sometimes guilt causes us not to rest. Your goals your ambitions, all of these are great in their place. Your body needs rest. When we overwork ourselves, we are no good for ourselves or the people around us. We must put aside all the excuses that we tell ourselves on why we cannot rest right now. Do it for mental health, do it for your physical health do it for your peace of mind.

Even God rested after He was done with all His work.

Genesis 2: 2-3 “And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done.

If God saw that after He completed something He rested, what more of us who get worried, tired, and frustrated.  Remember God is not subject to getting tired like us and He tells us in His word that we need to rest, and it is good to rest from our work.

Give yourself permission to take a break and rest. When was the last time you enjoyed a massage? When was the last time you went on a mini-vacation? Do your mind and body a favor. Rest!

The benefits of resting:

  • You will be and feel refreshed.
  • Your mind will be in tuned to get new and innovative ideas.
  • You are able to make clear decisions.
  • Brightens moods.
  • Reduce health risks.
  • Be more energetic.
  • Be more grateful.

You deserve to rest and enjoy life!

Till next time, be blessed and be at peace.
